Brooke Wyeth returns home to Palm Springs after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas with
her parents, her brother, and her auntBrooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up
pivotal and tragic events in the family’s history – a wound they don’t want reopened. 
In effect, she draws a line in the sand and dares them all to cross it.”




Characters:  2 males and 3 females*


Lyman Wyeth (late 50’s to 70)
– Kind and gentle patriarch.  Former Hollywood B actor with some celebrity
who turned that into political influence.


Polly Wyeth (late 50’s to late 60’s)
Lyman’s wifeGraceful and acerbic matriarch.  Active

Republican who is deeply protective of her social standing.


Brooke Wyeth (mid 30’s to mid 40’s)
Lyman and Pollys daughterProfessional writer who

has been living in New York after a mental breakdown. 
er difficult relationship with her family centers on her opposing liberal politics.


Trip Wyeth (late 20’s to mid 30’s)
Brooke’s brotherWitty and self-effacing.  Producer of a reality TV show.


Silda Grauman (late 50’s to late 60s)
 – Polly’s sister.  Creative, fragile, funnyFormer B movie writer,
he Bohemian polar opposite of her sister, fresh out of rehab.
